Bulldog Breakfast

If you grew up in Provo, you probably have fond memories of attending the Bulldog Breakfast every year at Provo High. This year the Bulldog Boosters decided to bring back the Bulldog Breakfast.
On Saturday, September 27, 2008, 700 Provo High Supporters met for a yummy breakfast. Many thanks to Maceys who provided: pancakes, sausages, eggs, hash browns, and juice. This year's fundraiser earned money for the football program, choir, and girl's volleyball.

The football players enjoying a nice breakfast after Friday nights GREAT game!

The football coaches and parents cooked the food.

Field Clean-up

On Saturday, August 23rd all the football players, their families, and members of the Booster Organization met at the field to do a massive clean-up project in preparation for our first home football game. Families brought: lawn mowers, weed whackers, leaf blowers, rakes, and shovels. They picked up garbage around the field and power washed the bleachers. They power washed the concession stand and painted the concession stand.
The field looked so good when they were done that patrons inquired as to which landscaping company had been hired to prepare the field this year.
Great job everyone! Your hard work definitely paid off.

Service Project

The Boosters and Coaches arranged a service project with Provo High Principal, Sam Ray working to build an amphitheater near D Wing. The football players came 3 different times, for several hours each time, bringing their shovels, wheelbarrows, and picks. They dug out the old asphalt and hauled it away then carried gravel and pavers to create a nice amphitheater for the students to enjoy.

It was hard work and the boys can feel proud of their finished product.

Football Camp

Football camp was a great week. The boys worked hard and learned a lot. At the end of the week, the Bulldog Boosters arranged for the Provo City Fire Department to come and spray the boys and the field down. You can imagine how great it felt on a hot summer day.

The boys enjoyed BBQ Hamburgers with their team mates.

After the BBQ the boys did the Haka to each other. It was a sight to watch.

The Golf Tournament

On Friday, June 27, 2008, the Bulldog Boosters kicked off their 1st Annual "Bulldog Golf Tournament". The event was held at Sleep Ridge Golf Course in Orem.

The event attracted Alumni and Provo High Supporters from as far as California and Nevada. Lons Cookin' Shack hosted a yummy lunch for the golfers before their shot gun start. Over 100 golfers enjoyed playing for prizes with 8 of the 18 holes sponsored by generous Provo High Supporters.
Kip Rollins, a Provo High Alumni, and his company VOX Promotions provided our golfers gift bags for the event. The gift bags included a nice Bulldog shirt, ball cap, sleeve of balls, drink coupons, and a raffle ticket. Many thanks to VOX Promotions for this HUGE contribution to the event.

One of our hole sponsorships was from Monorach Honda, who provided the opportunity to win this four-wheeler and wave runner with a hole in one. Other gifts included: Ping Drivers, donated by Matt Rollins, a Provo High Alumni; a Golf Bag and Teeth Bleaching, donated by Crawford-Leishman Dental; Dinner and a night at the Hines Mansion in Provo and a Driver, donated by Tanner Capital Management; a piece of property donated by Empower Group, and Contributions from Avery, Burdsal, and Fale; as well as Utah Surgical Arts.

Mike and Jodi Leishman were surprised when their ticket was drawn to win a piece of property in Southern Utah. The event was a great opportunity to reconnect with other Provo High Alumni and raise funds for a good cause. Many golfers are already looking forward to next years event.

Football Luau

On Friday, May 16, 2008, The Bulldog Boosters kicked off the 1st Annual Football Luau catered by the Bamboo Hut. The event was a HUGE success as we fed 1400 people and earned the football team over $10,000.
Coach Pope was our MC for the evening.

It was a great opportunity to purchase "Bulldog gear" for the upcoming season.

We were excited to have Mayor Billings, who is an alumni of Provo High, join us at the event.

One of the highlights of the evenings was when Fui Vakapuna, a running back at BYU, taught the boys how to do the Haka.

Guests were served by our football players.

Brook Haws, a Provo High Alumni, built the stage for the entertainers to perform on.

The Islanders performed for us. The entertainment was great!

Video of the Haka.

After the boys were done cleaning up, they were able to do a little entertaining of their own.

We can't wait until next year!

Provo High School Football Team

In assessing the needs of Provo High School; the Bulldog Boosters determined that the Football team had the greatest needs this year. We met with the Provo High Football coaches to assess their equipment needs. During the football season last year, players had to come off the field in between plays to have their equipment repaired in order to return to the field and finish the game. We felt that by replacing faulty equipment it would be safer for the boys allowing them to focus on playing football without worry of equipment repairs.

The following equipment was needed to begin the football season this year:

35 new Helmets
196 Helmets refurbished and repainted
33 New Shoulder Pads
196 New Varsity Uniforms
18 Footballs

Equipment Costs Estimated at $46,000.
